The Churchville Fire Department has a Fire Department based Ambulance (Rescue Squad) that provides BLS (basic
life support) service and responds between the hours of 6 PM and 6AM.  Due to the lack of daytime help the Fire
Department relies on Monroe Ambulance to provide ambulance service from 6 AM and 6 PM.  For priority 1 and 2 calls
the fire department responds with rescue 428 to provide EMS (emergency medical service) until Monroe ambulance
arrives to transport.  During the hours of 10 PM and 6 AM Sunday through Thursday the rescue squad has "squad
nights".  Members of the rescue squad respond on their squad nights during these hours to ensure the ambulance
responds.  EMS is a large part of the service the Fire Department provides our community therefore all 3 chiefs, the
Captain of the rescue squad,
Ambulance 429, Pumper 424 and Rescue 428 carry AED's (automatic external
defibrillator's), and various EMS equipment.
