August 22, 2006 17:07 hours Churchville Fire arrived on scene near Stone's on Buffalo Road to find an electrical line arcing and
burning fairly significantly.  CVFD staged around the site and kept onlookers at a safe distance and monitored the situation until the
utility company arrived.  Once the power had been shut down, Churchville Fire wet down the area to cool the significant heat that had
been produced.  Temperatures where the wire contacted the ground went high enough to melt the dirt and sand on the roadside into
glass, as seen in several of the pictures below.
July 15, 2006 Churchville Fire participated in a  live burn exercise with Bergen in their district.  For the first 2 hours of the drill members
of the County Fire Bureau lit small, controlled fires in select areas of the house in order for firefighters to gain worthwhile interior
structure firefighting experience in controlled realistic conditions.  At approximately 11:00am members of the team lit the entire structure
in order for the attending members to observe the process of a structure fire including smoke color and quantity, structural weak points
and their warning signs, and to demonstrate just how quickly a relatively small interior fire can engulf an entire structure.

May 19, 2006 Churchville Fire took part in the annual DWI Simulator at Churchville High School.  As in past years, students watched
on as police and fire units responded to a mock MVA where, as you may see in the first picture, alcohol was involved.  The exercise
serves multiple purposes: education on the risks of drinking and driving as well as a look at what to expect from first responders in
addition to valuable training on the various tools and procedures on the part of the fire department.  By the end of the exercise, there
wasn't much left of the car, and Churchville FD's new equipment proved it's strength by rolling the dash to such a degree that the
nose of the car rested on the pavement.
